Announcement: You may call me.... Kelly J. Wallace, Esquire or Dr. Kelly J. Wallace

So it has been a whirlwind 5 days!!! Molly and I left Charlottesville Wednesday at 4am ET and arrived in Birmingham around 1pm CT for the beginning of graduation festivities! That afternoon after lunch with my parents and a little shopping, it was back to the hotel for a early night to bed. Or so I thought. Really, my dad and I had a little problem sleeping, so after walking Molly several times we finally gave up on the idea of sleep and he went to do a crossword and I was off to the gym. By the time I got back to the hotel it was time to get ready for the day. My mom surprised me with a Mom and Kelly day full of manicures, pedicures, getting the A/C in my car fixed, and the dog park! We had a great time! Dinner was with my parents and Ethylea at Texas Roadhouse - yummy! It was great to see Ethylea again and hang out! Then Friday was here....the day of members of my family arriving...specifically my older sister Barbara, her husband Eric, their daughter Abby, and my twin sister Robyn. After a morning at the gym, taking Molly to the dog park, it was time to go get Robyn at the airport! Dinner that night was at the hotel - Jim 'N Nicks down by the pool. That night after putting Abby to bed we all played Apples to Apples - it was AWESOME! Of course Dad and Eric cheated, but it was so much fun!!! I had a blast! The Saturday morning (in a torrential downpour), the men headed to a golf shop, Robyn and Barbara off to get their nails done, and Mom, Abby, and I to pick up my free graduation cake (won a gift card to the place at law prom) and lunch. Then it was time for Robyn, Mom, and I to head to Samford University for the ceremony. I had to be there early and they volunteered to go with me to get seats reserved for my family. So off we went. Due to the weather, the Cumberland tradition of marching across campus lead by bagpipes was ruled out. So we met in the lounge of the Wright Center and before I knew it we were lining up alphabetically and proceeding in. Then 60 minutes later - I had a hood on, a diploma in hand, and was proceeding out. The family and I went over to the reception at the law school for some pictures and to see some fellow graduates. After that it was back to the hotel to chill for 40 minutes or so before our dinner reservations. We ate dinner at Ruth's Chris. After dinner it was time to say my goodbyes and pack up. I left Birmingham at 3am CT this morning and arrived back in Charlottesville at 1:30 pm ET.

Like I said a whirlwind weekend!

However, with that being said I just want to take a minute to thank everyone that has supported me through the past 3 years. I couldn't have accomplished my JD without your love and support. Especially my family - my loving parents and three sisters and their families. Thank you all for always being there for me and helping me. I'd also like to thank the individuals who made the 3 years at Cumberland worth it - Robby, James, Scully, Anna, Donald, Bob, and Oliver. Sure there were other individuals, but these made such an impression on my life and I couldn't be more thankful to have them in it.

So, graduation is over. What's next? Want to guess? It is similar to school - so similar it is scary! A two month long review course that starts at 9 am tomorrow!!!! So I'm off to bed and after the gym tomorrow ready to begin the journey of preparing for the Virginia Bar.

It's official....

Well, it is official. All of my grades are in!

Bioethics A -
Business Drafting A
Trademarks A
Federal Courts B- (yeah, I know...could've been an all A semester, but you know what - I still don't understand the discussions in this particular class that well and my competition were the top 10% of my class...so i'll take that B- with pride!!!)

So, what this means is that I've passed my final classes of law school...so on Saturday I am good to graduate....at least officially!!!

Woo-hoo!

Elizabeth said "Kelly you are a genius!"

Sometimes things are just too good to be true - you know!!!

Like say getting in two of your law school grades....The first being Bioethics and getting an A- and the second being Business Drafting and getting an A.

So although I've still got grades missing....

Currently, I am a straight A law school student and according to Elizabeth, "A GENIUS!" I'll take it!

Home Sweet Home - 314 Glade Lane Charlottesville, VA

Well, several people have asked for pictures of 314 Glade Lane. This afternoon I decided to finish the last few details I wanted to do before I posted pictures (hanging some stuff and cleaning).

However, I want to make one note:

The tv in the guest bedroom, is currently on the floor. I know what you are thinking...a bed on risers and a tv on the floor...how is a guest supposed to see the tv? Ha! Ha! However, this is because the master bedroom furniture is not in yet. It was ordered just a few days ago and is mine and Matt's wedding gift from my parents. We looked at 4 different stores and had to go with furniture that would fit (where I'd like to now point out I learned all about the tape measure - we got up close and personal). It is going to look AWESOME!!! Until then, I've borrowed the chest from the guest bedroom for my clothes and to act as a tv stand in the master bedroom. Also, I've converted two of the four wooden tray stands as nightstands in the master bedroom. I know I'm genius! :-)

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy a peek into my new home! Seeing as how you have been asking!

Welcome Home to Virginia Kelly...

Well, I know it has been a while, but I've been in the process of moving. I picked up a 24' Budget rental truck on April 30 (I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Budget to everyone and let U-haul know that I will NEVER use them...long story, but apparently I'm still bitter), the same day Matt flew in. By 8 am (Central time) Two men and a Truck were at 2818 10th Ave. South and hustling to move my stuff and load up the rental truck. Here's the thing about that company...they are worth every penny. They run, seriously, RUN (do you hear me?) RUN down 2 flights of stairs with stuff in their hands, on their backs, and then run up them empty only to run down with more stuff...psycho, if you ask me...but lordy I recommend them to all, and I love them...so moving on...The truck was loaded and they drove it to the main street (through the very narrow one way that I lived on)...and then I got in the driver's seat....and NEVER got out!!!

Well, let me explain...I got out to get diesel for the truck...but other than that...it was me driving the truck and Molly and Matt in my Rolla following close behind me...We thought we would make it the whole way to C'vill on Friday...well, at least I thought that...and I was WRONG!!! When you are stuck going under 70 that drive sure does get a lot longer!!! I was exhausted so we stopped in Raphine and we got to my new home on Saturday morning. Matt and I started unloading the truck, and then when the movers got here it went even faster. Then we returned the truck and got busy making the townhouse we moved my stuff look like my home! (Still in the process, but will get pictures up soon!)....

So, here are a few pictures from the trip and a goodbye to my old apartment and hello to Virginia. I just wanted you all to know that Molly and I are safely in Virginia for good...spending our days between the gym, the dog park, and making the townhouse look like a home...Expect pictures soon!
